Best place to travel safely: no crime, super friendly, and spotlessly clean -- like going back in time but in a good way. This is the only place I can think of that after a hard night of partying you can walk back to your hotel with a hundred-dollar bill taped to your head and no one would bother you. The diving is spectacular and the hiking is incredible: trails are well marked and the views are amazing. Heineken is cheaper than soda pop, restaurants are few but all serve top-notch food. This is definetly a hidden jewel and one of my favorite places on earth.

The people

Windwardside
Describe and rate your lodging (hotel, villa, etc.)
Excellent
How were the food and restaurants?
Reservations always needed and a good idea to call the locals for special nights. Always enjoy Queens Garden and chef Keith Murphy, and the Northern Italian menu is fantastic at Cafe Bistro
What were your favorite activities?
Hiking and cocktailing (a sport on Saba).
What did you think of the local people and culture?
Friendliest people in all the Caribbean.
How would you rate the beaches?
Only one beach, black sand and beautiful but only accessible about 2/3 of the year.
Was transportation accessible and affordable?
Cab drivers are friendly, knowledgable expert drivers (driving on Saba is not for the faint of heart). Rentals are available; I would highly recommend purchasing insurance if available.
What kind of travelers would like this destination?
Adventure lovers, explorer types.
What did you NOT like about this destination?
Can be challenging to get here -- everything depends on weather.
