Carnival Monday

Carnival Monday is sort of a warm-up for Tuesday's main event. There are marches along an abbreviated parade route in Port of Spain, lots of music, dancing and singing, but most marchers wear only parts of their masquerade costumes, or none at all. On Carnival Monday and Tuesday rolling sound trucks like this one blast out the year's most popular soca "road marches." Also note the ample security -- part of the benefit of "playing Mas" with a band like Tribe, as many tourist do.
