Simply Fish at the Aruba Marriott

About.com Rating 4

The Bottom Line
Located at the Aruba Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino, Simply Fish offers romantic, sea-side dining. Excellent seafood, caught fresh whenever possible, can be savored during a dramatic Caribbean sunset with your feet in the sand. The dress code is casual; however, don't expect casual prices. In fact, feel free to dress up for what will be a special meal.

Guide Review - Simply Fish at the Aruba Marriott
The food at Simply Fish is reason alone to visit, but partnered with the beautiful Palm Beach location and the tremendous sunsets this is a meal to remember.Even as a small live band plays at a pleasurable volume, you'll still be able to hear the sound of the waves lapping restlessly a little beyond your table.

The limited menu at Simply Fish may serve as an indication that the food is prepared with consideration and confidence. Instead of starting with a salad, try the rich and delicious bouillabaisse ($12). If you're looking to begin with something less filling, the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail ($17) can be shared between two, and the fresh mango and greens are a refreshing aside.

Among the entrees, lobster appears thematically; it is partnered with mahi mahi and swordfish in the "Aruban Triangle" ($39) or served as part of a traditional seafood risotto ($34). The 6 oz. rock-lobster tail is the final and possibly the best option, served simply broiled with a roasted garlic butter for dipping ($38). If you don't want fish, there is the roasted chicken in a sauterne-sage reduction or the grilled Angus tenderloin. I'd recommend going for the seafood here and save the steak for a visit to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, located inside the Aruba Marriott Resort's lobby.

With drinks the bill can easily add up, so romantic couples should consider Simply Fish's two for $89 deal, a nightly option that includes three courses; you can choose from three starters and four entrees. (Ask your server which items are on the special menu, because you may be able to choose the same dishes you were eyeing, anyway.) The third course, dessert, is shared.
