San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico and, arguably, the Caribbean. Dozens of hotels and resorts are located here, but there also are hotels in the Rio Grande area to the east, on the west coast (including the surfer's paradise of Rincon), and around the city of Ponce in the south. The island of Vieques is an emerging tourist destination, and there even are a few hotels on tiny Culebra.
