Sandos Playacar Beach Resort & Spa, one of two all-inclusive Sandos Hotels & Resorts properties in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, makes its home on Playa del Carmen’s widest white-sand beach. The Sanditos Family Section of the resort is open to families, large groups and multi-generational travelers. Room types include:

The oceanfront section of the resort features:

• Superior Ocean View Rooms: King-size bed, VIP mini-bar and welcome amenity and ocean-view terrace or balcony and additional in-room amenities
• Ocean View Suite: King-size bed, VIP mini-bar and welcome amenity, a lounge room with dividing door between rooms, private ocean view balcony and additional in-room amenities

The Sandos Riviera Select Club (Adults only, ages 21 and up) features a private reception area, adults-only pool with a swim-up bar and waiter service, and an exclusive area of the beach. The rooms are located in a secluded part of the resort and are furnished with the luxury and comfort of junior and master suites, a spacious living room and a Jacuzzi:

Sandos Playacar Resort & Spa features six a la carte restaurants that feature international fare ranging from an Argentinean steakhouse to Asian fusion and traditional French cuisine. In addition, the resort has four buffet-style restaurants and a beachside snack bar.

Sandos Playacar’s activity programs are geared toward guests of all ages and interests, with a kids club, evening shows, beach volleyball, cooking lessons, Spanish lessons, and a twice-daily bike tour of the exciting Fifth Avenue in downtown Playa del Carmen.

The resort boasts extensive kids programming that includes activities divided by age group including tennis, tie-dye classes, sand-castle building, an on-stage fashion show, and a daily mini-disco. Sandos Playacar adult activities include fitness classes, beach Olympics, water games, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, traditional Mexican cooking lessons, Spanish lessons and in-pool scuba diving lessons.

Every evening, there is a live show in the theater – with acts such as a Michael Jackson revue and a “Deal or No Deal”-style show with real prizes – followed by a club with music and dancing until 2 a.m. The resort spa offers traditional and modern treatments, fitness classes and a beauty salon.

Facilities include Jacuzzis, saunas, steam baths, and a fitness center available to all guests. After-sun treatments are popular, and the spa also offers natural therapies prepared with sea water, minerals and herbal ingredients. The signature treatment is the Nausicaa bed, an Italian treatment that combines chromotherapy, aromatherapy and rhythmical massage.
