Montserrat's only full-service hotel has a pretty perch overlooking Little Bay -- destined to become the island's new capital -- and a fine array of amenities, including free, in-room Internet access, a small but lovely pool, 18 clean and spacious rooms with both interior and exterior balconies, and a very good restaurant, Tina's. It's not the most romantic spot on the island, and you'll need a car or cab to get anywhere (the hotel is along a steep, winding road), but it's perfect for business travelers or anyone who wants the feel and familiarity of a 'real' hotel.

The Montserrat home of Sir George Martin -- the music legend still owns it -- recently opened to the public as a guesthouse and restaurant and promises to quickly become one of Montserrat's most popular visitor destinations. The breezy home has a lovely, wide verandah for al fresco dining, a bright, open common area, and six guest rooms where musicians once stayed while recording at Martin's nearby Air Studios. Acclaimed as Montserrat's most lovely and lavish villa, Camelot by the Sea perches on a high cliff on the island's south shore, its bright yellow turret a landmark for local sailors.
