Ocho Rios Travel Guide

Dunn's River Falls, Jamaica

© Jamaica Tourist Board
This former fishing village is home to two of Jamaica’ most famous tourist attractions, Dunn’s River Falls and Fern Gully, as well as myriad resorts and tourist lures like Dolphin Cove. The Ruins at the Falls is a memorable place to have lunch or dinner beside a rushing waterfall, while other restaurants, shops and entertainment venues are clustered at Island Village, close to the cruise port.

Zip-lining, rafting on the White River, bobsledding, and horseback riding on the beach and in the surf are among the many tours and attractions available to visitors.

Located in the northeast coastal parish of St. Anne, Ocho Rios is home to a major cruise port and its attractions can be flooded with tourists when the cruise ships are docked. Some travelers opt to avoid the crowds by staying in quieter Runaway Bay about 10 miles away, which is home to several all-inclusive beach resorts.

Most Ocho Rios visitors not arriving by cruise ship fly into Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay and either drive or take a connecting flight to the Boscobel Aerodrome. The drive can take two hours each way.
