Kingston, Jamaica Travel Guide

Kingston is the capital of Jamaica, founded in 1692 after the earthquake that devastated the infamous nearby pirate haven of Port Royal. It’s one of the biggest cities in the Caribbean, but despite its waterfront location and international airport, is much better known among business travelers than tourists.

Part of the reason for that is Kingston’s (oft deserved) reputation as a dangerous place to visit.

Those who do visit the Kingston area can join a heritage walking tour of downtown, visit the Bob Marley Museum, kick back at the Strawberry Hill resort with its astounding views of the sprawling city, see the sunken ruins of Port Royal, or take a day trip out to the beautiful yacht haven of Lime Cay.
