Falmouth prospered as a center of Jamaica’s sugar industry for more than two centuries, leaving a heritage of fine public buildings downtown. The new cruise port, which opened in 2011, provides travelers with easy access to Falmouth’s historic heart. The Albert George Shopping and Historic Center, built in 1895, is the place to go for local crafts and produce. Great-house tours, rafting on the Martha Brae River, the Outameni cultural center, and a planned Artisan’s Village are among the other local attractions.
Breezes Trelawny and the budget Starfish Trelawny and FDR Pebbles resorts are among the most popular all-inclusive properties in the Falmouth area.
Falmouth is located about 18 miles west of Ocho Rios and is best accessed via Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
