Brac Reef Beach Resort, a small Cayman all-inclusive

Brac Reef Beach Resort, a place of coconut palms and sea grape trees that's scattered with hammocks, underwent a huge rebuild following the devastation of Hurricane Paloma in November 2008. It is a small, family owned resort located on four and a half acres of white-sand beachfront on Cayman Brac, and features 40 beachfront guest cottages. In addition to famous Cayman Brac diving, the resort offers a variety of other aquatic adventures.

Brac Reef has 27 standard rooms, 10 junior suites, and three handicapped accessible rooms in a two-story building surrounded by tropical foliage and landscaped gardens.

Each of the 27 standard rooms has, among other things, two doubles or one king bed, a patio or balcony, full bath, tiled or carpeted floors, cable TV, coffee center, and free WiFi. Junior suites have all that and also upgraded furniture, recliners, iPod docks, a mini-fridge, DVD players, and dual shower heads. Handicapped-accessible rooms have queen beds, roll-in showers, and easy access to room and pool area.

The resort’s dining options are The Grand Palm Restaurant, serving international cuisine of seafood, island favorites and desserts, dinner only,  reservations required; The Palms Caribbean Restaurant, American and continental cuisine serving breakfast, lunch and dinner; and The Tipsy Turtle Pub, a poolside bar overlooking the beach serving tropical concoctions, open from noon to 1 a.m. Room service is also available.

The resort has a swimming pool as well as a beach and a lighted tennis court. It provides beach volleyball, bikes, game room, table tennis, snorkeling, kayaks and a fitness center. There is a spa onsite where, for extra charge, you can get a variety of services and treatments.

Diving is a huge draw in the Cayman Islands, and Reef Divers is the onsite dive operator at Brac Reef, with certified instructors and boat captains and offering a valet dive service as well. Dive equipment rentals are available. Brac Reef is the only Cayman Brac resort where you can dive two islands in one vacation; through the dive shop, guests can experience all 26 miles of the sister islands and have the chance to dive the best sites around Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, including the Russian Frigate and Bloody Bay Wall.
