Palm Island, part of the Elite Island Resort chain, is a private island with 43 rooms and was a Conde Nast Johansens 2008 Award for Excellence nominee. The resort is located near the southern tip of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, an archipelago noted for its stunning natural beauty and crystal-clear waters. The resort has five white-sand beaches and offers fresh and locally grown Euro-Caribbean cuisine, all drinks, non-motorized water sports and terrific hiking trails. The resort is adults-only nearly all the time, with family accommodations available during some off-peak summer weeks, resort reservations officials said.

All-Inclusive Palm Island Rooms

This resort has accommodations in three categories: Rooms, suites and villas.

The Palm View rooms are located in four buildings amid the resort’s gardens, all with sitting areas and private furnished terraces with views of the pool or beach. The beachfront rooms are housed in 10 buildings set side by side on the beach, perfect for couples, with large, louvered windows.
The island loft rooms have peaked roofs and louvered windows, and a few of them are on stilts, set back from the beach amid the gardens, while other loft rooms are set right on the beach facing the Tobago Keys.

In the suites category are plantation suites, housed in a two-story building tucked into the gardens; two of the suites are on the top floor; and seagrapes suites, similar in style to the plantation suites. Both categories have 560-square-feet of space in each suite.

In the villas category, there are two, the Southern Cross Villa with two bedrooms, set in the cliffs with four timber decks; and the Seafeather Villa, the newest, situated on the island’s northern shores with three-bedroom suites, living room and huge decks adjacent to the water. Villa guests get their own golf cart to get around the island.

There are two restaurants on the island, with bars. The Royal Palm serves all meals, and features ocean views. The Sunset Grill is open daily for lunch, and dinner by reservation, with an extensive menu and tables outdoors and also on the beach. The resort also offers traditional afternoon tea, with finger sandwiches, cold and hot beverages and desserts.

All-Inclusive Palm Island Activities

Activities included at the resort are non-motorized water sports such as windsurfing, snorkeling (with instruction), kayaking and catamarans. Land sports include tennis, horseshoes and shuffleboard. There are many hiking trails on the 135-acre island as well, and the resort’s three nature trails -- Cactus Hill, Iguana and Point Lookout -- all offer sweeping views of the Grenadine archipelago with Carriacou, Petit St. Vincent, Canouan, and Mayreau visible in the distance.

The resort offers regular botanical strolls to guests as well, and also features themed nights that include parties, music by vocalists and bands, beach barbecues and Caribbean night dinners and rum tastings.

The resort also has its own pitch-and-putt style golf course. There is a spa on the property, where treatments can be booked at extra charge.
