You have to be pretty confident of what you offer when your resort website doesn't contain your resort name; LaSource's is www.theamazingholiday.com. Located on the secluded and gorgeous Pink Gin Beach, LaSource features all manner of food, drink and a myriad of physical activities. Intensity levels vary, from relaxing yoga and tai chi to thigh-burning water skiing and wind surfing. There’s something for everyone in and around LaSource's tropical-garden enclave. Guest reviews paint a picture of relaxation, luxury and extreme attention to guests.
The four-star resort's 100 guest rooms are embraced by tropical gardens and the sea on three sides. It is fairly spread out over 40 slightly hilly acres, fronted by Pink Gin Beach and including three spacious swimming pools. Nearby is the resort's own nine-hole executive golf course. The Moroccan-themed Oasis spa offers several types of massage, facials and aromatherapies (one spa treatment per day is included in package, but not the day of arrival or departure). Luxury ocean-front rooms are located in a three- or four-story building adjacent to the sea, while luxury ocean-view rooms are located on a hill behind them with unobstructed ocean views (not suitable for guests with walking problems, as the property is quite hilly).
Resort rooms have what LaSource calls a colonial feel, with jalousied wooden shutters instead of curtains to provide better respite from the hot Caribbean sun, as do ceiling fans above and cool marble floors underfoot. Furnishings are of hand-carved mahogany, including four-poster beds. Rooms come with private balconies or terraces, and bathrooms are appointed with marble and luxury toiletries. Top-floor rooms and suites have an airy feel due to tropical hardwood cathedral ceilings.
Four restaurants provide good dining options, from the more opulent Great House for a la carte dining, to the Garden Restaurant for buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. More casual are Oscar's Beach Bar and Restaurant and Cafe Deli. Drink up at three bars: The Piano Bar, Terrace Bar and Oscar's, each with its own unique layout and distinct imbibing personality.
There is no shortage of physical activity at LaSource, all of it covered in the all-inclusive price, including sailing, kayaking, aqua aerobics, water volleyball, tennis, archery, fencing, hiking and bicycle tours. Duffers may be interested in the resort's 9-green executive par-3 course on the grounds. Diving options abound; one individual dive per day (except day or arrival and departure) is offered to guests certified to dive. Those who aren't certified can take advantage of LaSource's Professional Association of Diving Instructiors certification courses, including open water to dive master.
LaSource's bars provide ample hang-out space at night, particularly at the moody Piano Bar where you can listen to the resident pianist as you play board games. All bars serve a range of local, Caribbean and international drinks, including well-known premium brands
