Many Caribbean travelers think the fall is the best time to visit the islands: the weather is still warm even as it cools off up north, the kids are back in school so resorts are uncrowded, and there are plenty of offseason bargains to be had right through mid-December. Here's my picks for this year's best fall travel deals to the Caribbean...

1. Holiday Inn Montego Bay Slashes Fall Rates

You can usually get pretty good deals in the summer and fall in the Caribbean, but even in low season cutting 60 percent off all-inclusive rates is an eye-catcher.

The all-inclusive Holiday Inn Resort Montego Bay in Jamaica just announced that it has trimmed its rates to as little as $144 per room per night on all new bookings for stays between Oct. 8 and Dec. 20. Plus, no minimum stay is required, and Priority Club members will receive 15,000 bonus points.

3. Caribe Hilton in San Juan Offers Incentives for Fall Travel

San Juan, Puerto Rico is a great destination for an inexpensive weekend Caribbean getaway, with lots of flights from the U.S. and being little more than three hours by air from New York. And a new deal makes a quick trip to San Juan even more appealing.

The Caribe Hilton in San Juan is offering $50 resort credits to guests who stay two or three nights between now and Dec. 22, and $75 credits for stays of four nights or longer. The credits can be used for food, drinks, spa treatments, and more. Room rates start at $139 per night for singles and $159 double occupancy.
