Travel Guide for Little Cayman in the Cayman Islands

If Cayman Brac is quiet, then Little Cayman is a whisper. Just 10 miles long and one mile wide, and with a population less than 200, this island is a paean to privacy. Its primary pastime is scuba diving, so those people you do meet will probably be in the water, wall diving on the North Side's famous Bloody Bay Marine Park, where the sheer coral plunges to 6000 feet.

On the less strenuous side of things, tourists can enjoy Little Cayman's status as a bird-watcher's paradise. The island plays host to thousands of tropical birds, from herons to Frigate Birds, and the largest Red Footed Booby breeding colony of in the world.

Owen Island is a sandy island just off Little Cayman that's an easy getaway for beach lovers and picnickers looking for solitude.

Accommodations on the island consist mostly of condominiums and beach houses, though there are a couple of resorts along the coast, including the Pirate's Point Beach and Dive Resort and the Little Cayman Beach Resort.
