Temptation Resort and Spa, Cancun

The Tempation Resort and Spa in Cancun, Mexico, is decidedly adults only, for guests 21 and older. With topless optional bathing and what the resort calls “tempting contests that will warm even the iciest participants,” this resort appeals to adults and couples, the young, young at heart and those curious about the resort’s seemingly naughty nature. The resort, formerly the Blue Bay Getaway, has seven outdoor Jacuzzis and three pools, and is located on the 14-mile long island between the hotel zone’s “Party Central” and downtown Cancun, about 20 minutes from the airport.

The resort has 348 rooms in the deluxe category and 36 Jacuzzi rooms in 10, three- and four-story buildings. The hotel underwent a renovation in 2007, imbuing it with contemporary décor. Rooms include satellite TV, air conditioning, mini bar, in-room safe and other amenities.

The resort also offers a “Drops of Love” package, with rooms that have pool views, Jacuzzi, daily petit fours, butler services, massage services and other romantic delights.

There are six restaurants at the resort. They are: El Embarcadero, all meals; The Village Wok, Asian fare, dinner only; Margarita’s Snack Bar and Grill, snacks, Mexican “antojitos” and a la carte fare; Il Piacere, Italian food, dinner only; Bella Vista, seafood and Caribbean fare, dinner only; and Paty O’Lounge, a bar serving a variety of food.

The bars, in addition to Paty O’Lounge, are: Alternative Sports Bar, Diego’s Pool Bar, Bikini and Nice Shoes.

All non-motorized water sports are included in the all-inclusive package, as well as a variety of daytime and nighttime entertainment, and the latter category includes some decidedly adults-only offerings. At the Nice Shoes disco, for example, they host strippers and male Chippendale dancers. Another theme night is the “Lingerie Casino” at Paty O’Lounge, where you are invited, the resort says, “to wear your most enticing lingerie” and join models to parade their sexy outfits.

For something much more relaxing, the spa at the site offers a variety of treatments, massages and facials, at extra cost. There is also a fully-equipped gym at the resort.
