Caribbean Room Rate Guide
What will I pay for a room per night?

By , About.com Guide

The Caribbean is home to a wide range of hotel, resort, and villa accommodations, ranging from simple guesthouses to exclusive private-island retreats. Rates for rooms, villas and other accommodations vary from season to season (summer can be up to half off at many, but not all resorts) and year to year.

However, resorts tend to view themselves as falling into the general categories of Budget, Moderate, and Luxury (read: Expensive) and set their prices accordingly.

Accordingly, hotel reviews on my Caribbean Travel site include a ranking of average room prices as follows, based on double occupancy:

Budget: Nightly room rates per night up to $150

Moderate: Nightly room rates of between $151 and $350 per night

Expensive: Nightly room rates of $350 or more per night

Actual rates, of course, will vary, and it is sometimes possible to get a modestly priced room at an upmarket resort, or a special room at a moderate property. So check the hotel's rate sheet or click through the Kayak links on the review page to get the latest rate information and compare rates at other hotels and resorts in the region.
