Most airlines with U.S. East Coast hubs offer direct flights to Caribbean destinations; San Juan, Puerto Rico's Luis Munoz Marin International Airport has become the biggest regional hub for international flights with passengers transferring to smaller carriers for continuing flights to smaller island destinations. In addition to service by major carriers like American, Continental, US Airways, United, and Delta San Juan also is served by budget carriers ATA Airlines and JetBlue, which also flies to Puerto Rico's regional Aguadilla and Ponce airports.

JetBluecontinues to expand in the Caribbean, adding nonstop flights from New York. JFK to Bermuda later this year as well as flights from Orlando to San Juan and Aguadilla. The carrier also serves Nassau in the Bahamas.

USA 3000 Airlines serves La Romana in the Dominican Republic, and Bermuda. In fact, Bermuda is rapidly becoming a competitive market for air travelers, whereas a few years ago it was one of the most expensive destinations to get to.

Another discount carrier to check out is Spirit Airlines, which serves Grand Cayman, Turks and Caicos, Kingston and Montego Bay, Jamaica, Nassau, Bahamas, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
