Antigua and Barbuda offer a sophisticated variety of annual cultural and sporting events, including literary and tennis festivals and events celebrating sailing and fishing.
For more than 40 years sailors have been making April on their calendars for the annual regatta in Antigua. Highlights of the weeklong event include races around the island, in Antigua's bays and harbors, and to the neighboring island of Guadeloupe.

Like mancala, warri is a "pit and pebble" game developed in ancient Africa and brought to the new world by African slaves in the 19th century. The game is still played throughout the Eastern Caribbean, and Antigua -- which boasts of having the world's best warri players -- holds an annual National Warri Festival at its Cultural Center.
First held in 2006, this event brings together writers, editors and publicists from the Caribbean and around the world for readings, workshops, and more. Held at the Jolly Beach Resort.
