Martinique, a department of France in the Caribbean, is home to a pair of all-inclusive resorts: the Club Med Buccaneer's Creek and the Club Trois Ilets. If you're new to the French Caribbean or feel a bit daunted by the language barrier, the Club Med is a good choice for an introductory visit, while the Trois Ilets offers a more low-key, European-style holiday vacation.

Club Med Buccaneer's Creek

Officially the Club Med Village of Les Boucaniers, this property has been of French-flavored Martinique's most famous resorts since 1969. Recently refurbished, the resort has 293 bungalow-style rooms and suites in a garden setting facing Le Marin bay, on what is arguably the island's best beach. All-inclusive package includes premium drinks, dining in two restaurants, waterskiing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, snorkeling, and other water sports; tennis; and use of the resort's extensive fitness center. Scuba and other excursions are extra.

Club Trois Ilets

This small (77-room) all-inclusive beachfront resort located near Fort-de-France on Martinique appeals primarily to Francophones; packages include all meals, drinks, activities (primarily water sports), entertainment, and a kids' club.
