Apple Vacations Will Pay for Passports

Monday August 7, 2006
Apple Vacations is discounting its charter trips by $100 per person to cover the cost of getting a new U.S. passport for travel to the Caribbean, Mexico and other foreign destinations.

New passport rules slated to go into effect at the end of 2006 will require travelers to have a valid passport to reenter the U.S. from their travels outside the country. A new or renewed passport costs $97 for adults. "We wanted to make it as easy as possible on our vacationers who need to get a passport," said Apple's Mark Noennig. "There are no forms to fill out, no need to prove to us you got your passport. We hope passengers take the $100 savings and go out right away and get their passports."

The discount will be given to travelers who book one of Apple's 7-night air/hotel packages between now and Oct. 31. Taking part in Apple's "You Fly, We Buy" promotion are hotel companies Palace Resorts, Occidental Resorts, and Bahia Principe Clubs and Resorts. For more information, see the Apple Vacations website.
