The famously, well, hedonistic Hedonism II resort has been sold by SuperClubs to new ownership that includes a group of longtime owners and the current general manager.
The new owners of the Negril, Jamaica resort, dubbed Marshmallow Limited, pledged to put $10 million into renovating the resort. "We are very happy that Hedonism's longtime friends and supporters are now at the helm and the resort will be preserved for many years to come by people who hold it as dear to their hearts as I do," said SuperClubs chairman John Issa, who will maintain a stake in the resort.
Hedonism II will not be rebranded and will continue to operate without interruption to service, and all reservations and tour operator contracts will be honored, according to a press release.
Financier Harry Lange said the new owners "have no intentions of changing the free spirit of this special place, which will most certainly remain."
Jon Gross, CEO of Marshmallow Ltd., also heads Fluffernutters, a large group of repeat Hedonism II guests.
"Hedo" sits on 22 acres on Negril's seven-mile beach and has 280 guest rooms plus 12 suites with private Jacuzzis and terraces.
