Haiti is working hard to attract tourists, and a big part of the plan is getting some new hotels open where visitors can stay. Here's a brief rundown on the hotel projects currently in the works in Haiti:
- The 106-room Best Western Premier Petion-Ville, near the capital of Port-au-Prince, opening in November 2012
- The Royal Oasis Occidental, also in Petion-Ville, opening spring 2013
- A 173-room Marriott property in Port-au-Prince slated to open in 2014
- The Belle Rive, a 100-room hotel that part of the Belle Rive mixed-use hotel/condo/restaurant development. No opening date for this property, part of Choice Hotels' Ascend Collection.
