The designers of the Renaissance hotels in Aruba and Curacao faced similar challenges -- namely, a lack of beach access at the properties -- and came up with innovate solutions that makes each of these resorts rather unique. Travel writer Clint Brownfield recently visited both properties and fills you in on all the details about these two luxury hotels that offer the convenience of a downtown location without sacrificing sun and sand...
Located in downtown Oranjestad, the Renaissance Aruba shuttles sun-worshipping guests by water taxi to its own private island -- the only one in Aruba. In Curacao, designers of the Renaissance Curacao literally brought the beach to the hotel by building a stunning "infinity beach" on the second level of the resort, complete with sand and palm trees.
