Spots I like the most in Grenada are:
1. Grenada – Seven Sisters Waterfalls -http://webcamgrenada.com/blog/seven-sisters-waterfall.html
2. Grenada – Cool spot at Tufton Hall http://webcamgrenada.com/blog/cool-spot-to-beat-the-heat.html
I love Fern Gully. It is located on a 3 mile road that starts in Ocho Rios and ends in Colgate.
The area has over 500 types of ferns plus Blue Mahoe and Banana trees.
Vendors are found all along the road, selling AUTHENTIC Jamaican art & crafts.
I travel all over the Caribbean in search of unique, well crafted, authentic Caribbean arts & crafts. Many of my best finds have been found on the road side in Fern Gully.
A few spring to mind:
Overall resort, Guana Island in the BVI, blessedly small, isolated, gorgeous, top-end service and phenomenal views.
Down-home grub: Scotchies, Ocho Rios, best pulled pork/chicken in the ethos.
Fun sport: Inline hockey for kids 7-17 in Turks and Caicos, I’m not kidding, it’s amazing, these kids are terrific and who’d think hockey in the Caribbean? Lotta Canadians there, that’s why! IT’s the Provo Hockey League at the Graceway sports center, if you’re there in season, go!
@Paul — hells yes, I’m bringing my skates to T&C next time I go!
In St. Kitts my favourite places are:
Beautiful Cockleshell Beach
The grounds at Ottley’s Plantation
Romney Manor/Caribelle Batik
I need to disagree about packing cameras and watches. I have found valuable items missing from my luggage when unpacking.
I would be to easy to say my favorite attractions are the beautiful beaches on each island wouldn’t it.
I love to relax and explore when on island. So would would say the rough terrain of Dominica for hiking and the sands for White Bay on Jost Van Dyke for relaxing. I’ll probably partake in a painkiller or 3 and fall asleep in a hammock listening to the gentle waves make their music.
Cheers!
The Boiling Lake in Dominica: an amazing hike to an otherworldly destination. But be prepared to retrace your steps on the return. A dip in the Titou Gorge is a cooling end to an unforgettable day!
The Asa Wright Nature Centre in Trinidad – 1500 acres of excellent bird watching in the lush tropical mountains. It’s been an ecological dream for more than 38 years. http://asawright.org/index.html
I go here to get away from the pace of city life; no tvs, no internet, no phones. just good relaxation, fresh food and friendly staff. great getaway.
