Curacao SynagogueWith the beginning of Passover just a few weeks away, I thought it would be a nice time to take a look at the fascinating history of Jewish settlement in the Caribbean. Most Caribbean travelers don't associate the Caribbean with Judaism, but there once were tens of thousands of Jews living in the islands, and Curacao is still home to the oldest synagogue in the Americas (it's a popular tourist attraction in Willemstad). Visitors will find traces of Jewish history from Barbados to Cuba and many places in between...
