U.S. Virgin Islands quarter

The U.S. Virgin Islands is very proud of its new quarter: the U.S. Mint just issued a U.S.V.I. coin as part of its state quarter program, featuring an image of a Banana Quit (a native bird), Yellow Cedar flower, and a Tyre Palm.

To mark the event, the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism is offering hotel rooms at 25 cents per night for up to three nights. The deal also includes a $25 per person activities credit, $25 per person dining credit, and a commemorative coin set.

Hotels participating in the Cent-sational promotion include: Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, Carambola Beach Resort & Spa, Hibiscus Beach Resort, Hotel Caravelle, Marriott Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Beach Resort, Secret Harbour Beach Resort, The Palms at Pelican Cove, Windward Passage, Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa.

The rate is good for up to three nights and must be booked by Nov. 2 at Bookit.com. The deal is good on travel between now and Nov. 15 and applies only to air/hotel packages.
