For the first time since the 1950s, Delta Air Lines will have regular service to Haiti, with daily nonstops between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Port-au-Prince launching on June 20.

"Delta's long-standing commitment to the Caribbean basin is now reinforced as we provide the growing population of Haitians in the tri-state area with more options to visit friends and loved ones in their native country," said Gail Grimmett, Delta's senior vice president.

The daily flights will depart JFK at 9 a.m. and arrive in Haiti at 11:54 a.m., with return flights departing Port-au-Prince at 12:54 p.m. and arriving in New York at 5:39 p.m.

Delta also will launch daily nonstop service between New York/LaGuardia and Bermuda on May 22; the flights will depart LGA at 11:45 a.m. and arrive in Bermuda at 3 p.m., with return flights leaving Bermuda at 3:50 p.m. and arriving in New York at 4:55 p.m.

Introductory fares for the Haiti and Bermuda flights start at $129 one-way. Tickets must be purchased by Feb. 23 for travel between June 20-July 31 to Haiti and May 22-July 15 to Bermuda.
