Barbados Beckons With Jazzy Tunes, Fancy Digs and Dining Delights

Friday December 19, 2008
January and February are great months to visit Barbados: The weather, of course, is the perfect antidote to the winter blahs, and these months also mark the height of the Barbados festival season. The Barbados Jazz Festival (January) is acknowledged as one of the best musical events in the Caribbean, while Holders Season (February-March) is the region's nonpareil cultural festival; you can learn more about both in my article on Top Barbados Events and Festivals.

Even if you don't visit while a festival is happening, Barbados has plenty to offer, as my Barbados Travel Guide explains. The site's Barbados travel section is newly updated with reviews of two of the island's upscale hotels -- the kid-friendly Turtle Beach and the exclusive and secluded Colony Club. Barbados also is the only Caribbean island with its own Zagat guide, and travel writer Chris Curley recently returned from the island with a review of one of Barbados' best restaurants, Daphne's.
