Little Cayman on the Mend, But Cayman Brac Still Hurting

Friday December 5, 2008
The residents and resorts of Little Cayman in the Cayman Islands are rebounding from the ravages of Hurricane Paloma, but recovery is proceeding more slowly on the "Sister Island" of Cayman Brac, according to reports posted by Travel Weekly.

On Little Cayman, the Southern Cross Club and Little Cayman Beach Club reopened Nov. 20, and other hotels were slated to open again over the coming weeks.

However, Caymans tourism minister Charles Clifford said on Nov. 18 that Cayman Brac will be "out of commission for a while" due to heavy damage from the Category 4 storm.

The late-season hurricane also caused extensive water damage at the Courtyard by Marriott hotel on Seven Mile Beach on Grand Cayman, which remains closed for renovation and repair.

Wrong information!! The Southern Cross Club and LC Beach Club are NOT on Cayman Brac - they are both on Little Cayman. Also, I suspect that ‘LC’ in your third paragraph should be ‘C Brac’(out of commission for awhile).
