Tropical Storm Nana Falters, But Another Could Hit Puerto Rico, USVI

Monday October 13, 2008
There are a couple of storms lurking in and around the Caribbean this weekend. Tropical Storm Nana reared its head in the eastern Atlantic before weakening to a tropical depression, and forecasters don't expect the storm to get any stronger; in fact, it may dissipate altogether by the time it reaches the Caribbean.

A currently unnamed tropical depression has formed south of Puerto Rico and is projected to take an unusual path northwest across the island. This storm could strengthen, and the National Weather Service says a tropical storm watch could be issued for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands later today. I will keep you posted as this storm develops.
