Major Renovations at Two Iconic St. Barts Hotels
St. Barts tends to be a pretty quiet place, but there are some big changes in store for a pair of the island's signature luxury hotels. The Hotel Carl Gustaf will reopen on Dec. 15 after an extensive renovation that includes a new signature restaurant, Victoria's, a redesign of the famous Carl Gustaf Lounge, a new boutique spa by the Carita sisters of Paris, and the addition of a new 2,600-square-foot Royal Suite with four bedrooms and a spacious walled garden terrace, infinity pool, and jacuzzi.
Also, the Hotel Le Toiny is renovating all 15 of its exclusive villas in French Colonial style and adding an ocean-view fitness center and spa cottage. Rooms will be equipped with 40-inch flat-panel TVs, wireless internet access, Frette bed linens, pool toys and fully stocked kitchenettes, among other upgrades slated for completion when the resort reopens Nov. 1; next year there are plans to renovate the hotel lobby and the signature Le Gaiac restaurant.
