Bermuda Hotel Implosion Photo Gallery

What's more fun than watching a big, empty building blow up? Doing so with a Dark 'n Stormy in your hand! Residents of Bermuda and visitors alike gathered in the historic town of St. George's on Aug. 25 to witness the first building implosion in island history, as demolition experts took down the long-vacant Club Med hotel near Fort St. Catherine. I've posted a new photo gallery with some great shots of the implosion from two distinct vantage points that I think you'll enjoy. The site will be cleared to make way for a new Park Hyatt hotel, slated to open in 2011 or 2012.
They don't blow up buildings every day on Bermuda, but there's always something to see or do on the island, a year-round destination for golf, spa vacations, and tennis. Learn more about a Bermuda vacation with my exclusive Bermuda Travel Guide and learn why this is one of the most convenient island destinations for anyone on the East Coast and a uniquely British outpost in the south Atlantic!
