New Travel Guide to St. Eustatius/Statia

Thursday August 21, 2008
The Caribbean is a big sea, and sometimes it's easy to overlook a tiny island like St. Eustatius. That's just what I did when compiling my travel guides to each of the Caribbean islands, until this week when I realized I never published a guide to little Statia.

A few hours of work later, and presto: my new Statia Travel Guide! Statia is actually an intriguing destination, full of history and ecotourism opportunities, great diving, but without the downside of being a big tourist destination. You won't have a million choices of dining and lodging here, but that means fewer crowds, too, and a chance to experience a bit of the old Caribbean way of life that sometimes can be lacking on the more developed islands.

If you love to dive, explore old forts, take hikes in the rainforest or just kick back in peace, consider Statia when making your Caribbean travel plans!
