Sheraton Hotels Going Smoke-Free

Friday February 15, 2008
Starwood Resorts and Hotels has announced that all of its Sheraton and Four Points by Sheraton properties in the U.S., Canada and Caribbean will ban smoking in guest rooms and public areas by the end of 2008. The company -- which previously enacted a smoke-free policy at its Westin branded properties -- said all 8,000 current guest rooms where smoking has been permitted will be thoroughly cleaned in anticipation of the new policy.

(1) tunica gambler says:

Hey,
Great for them but lets see how long they last without smoking being allowed in the casino. I gamble all over the USA and I can tell you from experience that you will always find a ton of open slot machines in the nonsmoking area on a weekend and very few on the main casino floor where the smokers hang out. So I hope they can find enough nonsmokers to fill all the empty rooms before they go belly up.
