New Hotel Review: The British Colonial Hilton

Wednesday January 30, 2008
Built by railroad tycoon Henry Flagler in 1989, the British Colonial Hilton is the Grande Dame of Bahamas hotels and a landmark in downtown Nassau. Famous for providing the backdrop for the James Bond movies "Thunderball" and "Never Say Never Again," the hotel underwent a $69-million renovation in 1999 and today remains the favored address for business travelers to Nassau as well as tourists looking for a home-away-from-home amid the action of downtown Nassau. Writer Dan Ross is just back from a trip to Nassau and files a new review of an old favorite in my Bahamas Hotels and Resorts section.
