Excellence Resorts in Dominican Republic Unveil Spas

Seems like every resort these days has to have a "signature" spa, and the latest are the Excellence Resorts in the Dominican Republic and Mexico. The Miile Spas (the name refers to a place of tranquility) will open on Nov. 1 at the Excellence properties in Punta Cana, D.R., and Riviera Cancun and Playa Mujeres in Mexico. The latter will premier at the same time as the new resort, located about 20 miles up the north coast from Cancun.

The spas all will utilize local elements in their treatments and include a spa concierge, couples suites with private steam rooms, hydrotherapy baths, massage suites, and private ocean-view terraces.

Excellence also plans to open another resort in Oyster Bay, Jamaica, in 2009.
