American Offers Free Companion Tickets for Florida-Caribbean Travel

Thursday June 28, 2007
American Airlines and American Eagle are offering free companion tickets on flights from South Florida to a variety of Caribbean destinations -- with paying passengers able to choose from roundtrip fares ranging from $109 to $159 each way.

The deal is good on flights from Miami to:

  • Curacao
  • Freeport, Bahamas
  • La Romana, Dominican Republic
  • Marsh Harbour, Bahamas
  • Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
  • St. Maarten
  • George Town, Bahamas
  • Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
  • Santiago, Dominican Republic
  • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
... and from Fort Lauderdale to:
  • St. Maarten
  • St. Thomas, USVI
  • Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Tickets must be purchased by July 3, with travel begun between Sept. 4 and Nov. 12 and ending by Nov. 14.

American typically advertises these deals to Florida residents, but anyone can take advantage -- especially if you can get a cheap flight from your home town to South Florida and then connect to a two-for-one American or American Eagle flight.

For full details, see the American Airlines website. Tickets must be purchased online to get the free companion seat.
