Fairmont to Open Resort in Anguilla

Monday June 11, 2007
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has unveiled plans for a new resort hotel in Anguilla -- a 140-room property on the south side of the island that will debut in 2010.

Fairmont, which already operates luxury resorts in Bermuda and Barbados, said the Fairmont Anguilla will be located on 400 acres of beachfront and include an 18-hole championship golf course, Jack Nicklaus Golf Club, Willow Stream spa, 15,000 square feet of meeting space, multiple restaurants and pools, and a beach club.

"The Jack Nicklaus Golf Club of Anguilla site is located on prime oceanfront property that is ideal for golf," said Nicklaus. "Several holes will play to or along the water, and all but three should feature spectacular views across the sea and of the beautiful mountains of St. Martin. Add to this the pristine beaches, and you have all the elements in place for a memorable golf experience."

Residential condos, villas, and estate homes also will be built on the resort site.
