Caribbean Passport Deals Take Sting Out of New Rules

Monday January 22, 2007
Starting tomorrow, you'll need a valid passport to reenter the U.S. when returning by air from the Caribbean, Mexico or Canada. If you don't yet have a passport, that's the bad news. The good news is that many Caribbean destinations and resorts are offering incentives for you to get a passport and travel down to the islands -- I've collected some of the best Caribbean passport deals for you, so now there's really no excuse for sending in your application, right?

We are a family of 5, which means our trip we wanted to take to Cancun starts with a $500 pricetag, not to mention the taxes charged to travel there. Now that we are almost 2 months into 2007, I’d like to know what affect the passport rules are actually having on the amount of travelers ! It will take us a while to get our passports, and I refuse to book until I have them in hand, so I am hoping that over the next couple of months, the supply demand rule will kick in and prices will drop off, so we can actually afford to book our trip.
