Dominican Republic: I Guess They Really Meant It...

I recently noted in this blog that officials in the Dominican Republic announced a crackdown on late-night alcohol sales and street parties ... A lot of people have been skeptical about whether the Caribbean nation was serious about doing anything that might hurt the nation's vital tourist business (even though the ban doesn't apply to tourist resorts), but police recently closed down seven Santo Domingo businesses found to be selling alcohol after midnight.
