Frenchman's Lookout: The $25,000 BVI Vacation

Friday January 5, 2007
If you're a supermodel like Kate Moss, spending $25,000 for a week on Tortola (or $15,000 off-season) is no big deal. If you're not a celebrity, however, a stay at the exclusive British Virgin Islands resort at Frenchman's Lookout may seem a bit out of reach.

But when you look at the details, it almost becomes reachable, if not entirely reasonable. First, the private house can accommodate up to 10 people, so you can split the price between five couples. And you do get some decent bang for your buck, like meals cooked by a private chef (including a beach barbecue on a remote island), massages on demand, and two days of crewed sailing aboard the 35-foot yacht Contender.

High-season prices are in effect Jan. 3-April 21; low-season is April 22-Dec. 15. For information and reservations call 866-940-0020 or visit the website at the link above.

Sounds fabulous! At least I can dream. Or start talking four other couples into it :-)
