RockResorts to Manage Bahamas' Rum Cay

Sunday November 19, 2006
The $700-million, 870-acre Rum Cay Resort Marina, slated to open in stages over the next few years, will be managed by U.S.-based RockResorts. The Colorado company, now part of Vail Resorts, was launched by Laurance Rockefeller in the 1950s and got its start in the Caribbean at Caneel Bay on St. John, U.S.V.I., and Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda, B.V.I. It currently manages luxury resorts like The Equinox in Manchester, Vt., The Lodge at Vail, and La Posada de Santa Fe in New Mexico.
