First Golf Course Completed at Cap Cana, Dominican Republic

Friday October 20, 2006
The stature of the Dominican Republic as a golf destination took a leap forward with the recent completion of the Punta Espada golf course at the Cap Cana resort community. The first of three planned 18-hole, Jack Nicklaus designed courses, Punta Espada features oceanfront greens and a spacious clubhouse, library, and pro shop surrounded by gardens.

Cap Cana is a billion-dollar-plus development spread over 6,200 acres and three miles of beachfront on the southeast shore of the Dominican Republic, south of Punta Cana. It eventually will include 5,000 upscale residences and 500 hotel rooms.
