Hurricane Florence Nears Bermuda

Bermudians boarded up storefronts and braced themselves for high wind and waves as the Category 1 Hurricane Florence moved to within a few dozen miles of the island Monday morning. Florence was reported to be producing hurricane-force winds on Bermuda as the eye of the storm passed close to the west coast of the island. A hurricane warning will remain in effect for the next 24 hours.
