Aargh! Tour the Caribbean Like a Pirate (or Hollywood's version thereof)

Friday July 7, 2006
Despite some mixed reviews, the sequel to Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean movie, subtitled "Dead Man's Chest," is sure to make a huge splash this weekend, and could be the hottest movie of the summer. I thought the first movie, "Curse of the Black Pearl," was terrific, so I'm hoping the second installment isn't too much of a letdown.

The Caribbean, of course, is full of real pirate history, but this week, in honor of the movie, I'll give you a sneak preview of the Caribbean locations where key scenes from the film were shot, which you can visit as part of a tour group or on your own. Moviemakers are always looking for unspoiled visits when making period films, so you'll find that retracing their steps can lead you to some of the prettiest parts of the Caribbean.

For more info on the new movie, BTW, check out the review on About.com's Movie site!
