Caribbean resorts continue to promote their offseason rates this month, including low rates for vacations throughout the summer. My May 2006 deals sheet also includes a sneak preview of Somerset at Grace Bay (right), a new hotel in Provo, and a SuperClubs promotion aimed at encouraging Americans to visit in 2007: the all-inclusive chain is offering to pay visitors' passport application or renewal fees. The latter is a cheap but clever way for these resorts to address the new passport rules that go into effect at the end of this year, which many in the Caribbean expect to be a major headache for travelers and destinations alike.
